The wowmug® is the brainchild of James Lodge owner of this website. He created the idea of colour change ceramics in 1996 when working on a client brief to create something different on a teapot that would perhaps indicate that the tea was now ready for use. |
The idea was a version of colour change as he had previously produced many millions of colour change items for clients this was an ideal medium for the technique. However it was not possible at the time to perfect this process for a volume market and therefore the client decided to look at other items that were available. James felt that over the past 20 years of working in this market sector he had never seen such an opportunity. There was great attention in the product but it required a lot of work and good quality manufacturing to produce this unique item. |

This task was fraught with disappointment and took several years to perfect. But now the product is something to be proud of. The patent for this item was filed early in its development, as was the trade name Wowmugs® a brilliant name for a brilliant product. |

We offer a competitive price to our customers with exceptional service, whilst we are happy to deal with any enquiry trade customers may wish to talk with our partners ‘Listawood' who can offer a great selection of innovative products. Due to the recent collapse of Tams Potteries UK it has been necessary for a new supplier to be found. This has proven to be a great success with now probably the largest ceramic supplier in the world providing wowmugs and other services.

The type of print we all tend to offer is called
Dye Sublimation. This will give a high quality photo realistic
image. The print will pass through its clear coating and come
to rest on top of the colour background. The darker the mug
the less you will see of the image. This is why Black and Blue
wowmugs® are by far our best selling colours. However you
can be skilful by dropping your print colours to a shade or
two below that of the base colour you will achieve a camouflage
effect.
We also screen print on the wowmug® to give a permanent
colour even when the mug is cold. Because the mug shape is never
100% similar it will be difficult using our process to supply
close registration but the single prints are most effective.
